A rare opportunity to visit the home of the Verderers' Court after hours and learn from Verderers themselves about this New Forest institution which has existed in some form since the reign of William the Conqueror.

Hear about the role of the court and how it came into being from Official Verderer, Lord Manners, and Elected Verderer, Richard Deakin will take guests through a year in the life of a Verderer.

This will be followed by a short presentation by Mary Montagu-Scott about how legacies make a difference to the New Forest Heritage Centre and our work protecting and sharing the history of the New Forest.

Light refreshments will be available.

Please think about bringing a cushion to sit on as the seating is wooden and quite hard on the posterior. For this event there is no parking at Queens House, please find alternative parking such as Lyndhurst car park which is within a short walk. There is space to drop people off at Queens House before finding parking.

Places are free but limited - booking is essential.
