Since moving to free entry in 2016 more people are visiting the Museum than ever before. However, this has left a hole in funding that donations collected in the Museum are struggling to fill. In 2017 the Visitor Information Centre that was based in the Centre closed and therefore the funding from the New Forest District Council for us to host the Centre has stopped and will be felt over the next few years. We now play an even greater role in the Forest, particularly as a hub for the community running school holiday activity days and evening workshops for adults. This is why your support is needed more than ever. It will help more than 220,000 people to enjoy and value the history, landscape and wildlife of the New Forest.
