We love to welcome families, and there are many things for you to do! Discover our galleries, displays, and a programme of family events, creative craft workshops and activities inspired by our museum collections over the school holidays.

  • GRIMWOOD MUSEUM ADVENTURE

    THIS SUMMER HOLIDAY! 

    This August, join a museum trail at The Heritage Centre for the Grimwood Museum Adventure, organised by Kids in Museums and Simon & Schuster. The trail celebrates the new Grimwood book, " Rock the Vote! " by Nadia Shireen. 

    Pick up a free activity sheet to find Grimwood characters, elect a new Mayor, and design a campaign poster. Complete the trail for a sticker and enter a contest to win a signed Grimwood bundle and a Double National Art Pass + Kids.

    Over 65 UK museums will participate from August 2- 26, encouraging family visits 2025.

We have museum trails, activity sheets, and colouring sheets for our younger visitors. Whether you pop in for a quick visit or spend a little more time exploring, you’ll find activities to engage and educate the whole family, from toddlers to grandparents!
